Our Story

Starting in 2011, Worship on the Water was birthed out of a desire to BE the Church, not just build another one. With a burden to reach the lost, hurting, traveling, or wondering... Worship on the Water began meeting people at the world-famous Flora-Bama. Known for it’s iconic music environments, it’s drinks, and a place where all are welcome, Flora-Bama opened it’s doors and has partnered with Worship on the Water in a way that we hope to duplicate all over the Gulf Coast.


Since first opening the doors to turn a tent stage into a place of worship every Sunday, tens of thousands of locals and tourists alike have visited this special place. Thousands have made decisions to commit their lives to Christ, and even followed that up with being baptized just steps away in the Gulf.


Our focus is simple: raise up uncommon people in uncommon places, to have uncommon faith. We hope you’ll join us!

Looking for a place to worship Jesus on the beach? Worship on the Water is a Christ-centered, come-as-you-are gathering where all are welcome to experience His love and grace. Join us every Sunday under the tent at the Flora-Bama for powerful praise, biblical teaching, and a community centered on Jesus. No matter where you come from or where you’ve been, you belong here!


Our Location

The Worship on the Water gatherings take place inside the most famous honky-tonk on the beach, the iconic, Flora-Bama. For decades, thousands of beautiful souls have come to the beachfront bar for live music and good times, and Sundays are no exception! We take over the tent stage every Sunday at 9 and 11am, and lives are truly changed every week. The amazing ownership of Flora-Bama allows our church to meet here free of charge and also helps in many ways throughout the year. Throughout the week our staff partners with the Flora-Bama in a variety of ways. Including caring for the staff’s needs financially, providing grief and addiction recovery, and more. We are proud that the Flora-Bama isn’t just our “venue,” it’s more than that... it’s family.

  • Triune God

    We believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three persons, uncreated and equal in power and glory. He is the Creator of all things and the source of life, truth, and salvation.

  • Jesus

    We believe Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will one day return to judge and redeem.

  • Holy Spirit

    We believe the Holy Spirit is the giver of life who indwells believers, empowering them for service, transforming their character, and guiding them into truth. Through His presence we are shaped into the image of Christ.

    We believe the Bible is the inspired and perfect Word of God, given as the foundation for doctrine and Christian living. It provides instruction, correction, and practical wisdom for every aspect of life.

  • Holy Sacraments

    We believe communion is a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a celebration of our relationship with Him until He returns. We believe baptism is an outward expression of inward transformation, identifying us with Christ and His Church.

  • Eternal Hope

    We believe Jesus will return again and that there will be a literal resurrection of all who belong to Him. Heaven and hell are real, and our eternal destination is determined by our relationship with Christ.
